301 pounds of marijuana found in box truck at NJ weigh station | Regional

KNOWLTON TWP., N.J. – A Texas trucker was found with hundreds of pounds of pot at a weigh station on Interstate 80 in New Jersey.

Officers found 301 pounds of marijuana in the cargo hold of a box truck stopped at the Knowlton Weigh Station in Warren County, according to a news release from the county prosecutor’s office.

During the inspection, the driver, 42-year-old Ian Munringayi, of Fort Worth, Texas, also gave police a fake international driver’s license.

Documents showed the truck was driving from Chicago, Illinois to the Bronx in New York, officials said.

Munringayi was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, hindering prosecution or apprehension and possession of marijuana.

He was released from Warren County Jail pending further court proceedings.
