The Dark Side of Ashwagandha

  1. turn to Jesus Christ he loves all of us more than anything and he literally died for us. He took in the punishment for our sins thru on the cross. It wasn’t cuz we deserved it, but cuz he loved us. 1 John 4:10 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” it was thru his love that he died for us and we can be forgiven

  2. I created and run a nootropic supplement business in the UK. We make a single 'stack' supplement that includes KSM-66 Ashwagandha. Whilst there is promising research out there for things like gym performance, improved sleep and sexual function in both men and women, it is too early to say for sure and us manufacturers in Europe certainly have to adhere to strict rules about what we can and can't claim, which is of course great for the consumer.

My first piece of advice is that if you have low cortisol levels to begin with, it may not be a good supplement for you as it could potentially lower it further. You don't want to have a permanent low state of cortisol (look up Andrew Huberman on the subject). We feel that it's a good supplement for people that have very busy and stressful lives, for example if their day job is high pressure or if they are feeling the burn holding down a job whilst looking after the kids and trying to get a gym session in. In that scenario, you may want to consider giving it a go to see how you get on with it. If you do decide to take it, I would advise taking it 5 days on, 2 days off and every 6 weeks take a week off. For people that report feeling numb or detached, this protocol may help. Everyone is different so try lowering dosage or taking even more time off until you don't have that effect. If it still continues, stop.

My best piece of advice and something that most people won't spot and NEED to be aware of is that you want to know exactly what 'whole herb equivalent' you are getting with your dosage. We for example provide 83.33mg of a 12:1 KSM-66 Ashwagandha root extract, which provides 1000mg whole root equivalent (1000 / 12 = 83.33).

And so what you want to watch out for is that you are not getting 1000mg of a 12:1 extract itself which, for example, would give you 12,000mg of whole root equivalent. This amount likely far too much than you need to see an effect and may potentially do more harm than good. More isn't necessarily better.

In any case, if you do decide to try it, please do check with your chosen manufacturer on the above first and most importantly, if you are on any medication, please check with your doctor prior to trying any nootropics.👍

  3. i took ashwagahnda everyday with vitamins , and i would smoke weed every other day too. Definitely had a it'll be fine attitude for whatever situation it was, and had some of my most creative moments while still working out everyday to help my business. i always took them in the night time

  4. I used to get betrayed by my closed friend and suffer minor ptsd from this incident. After watching some pop up videos on youtube about Ashwagandha, i decided to give it a try at the time i was suffering the flashback from the horrific experiences that I had with those bastards and my stress had gone in a miraculous way that i hardly explained. However, i decide to take it occasionally. Whenever i need it, i will take it, but not always.

  5. Ashwaganda (in particular the Sensoril extract) has been a game changer in my life. I found it by accident at a drug store one day several years ago. The bottle caught my eye because it had “reduce anxiety” on the label. At the time, I was dealing with major anxiety affecting me at random moments during my day. At first I started taking a 125mg capsule only when I sensed a specific instance of anxiety, or if I felt like the coming day was going to bring some high stress situation. It normally takes about 2 hours to take effect for me and lasts several hrs. It yielded amazing results right off the bat. And soon I started taking it daily at 5 days on/ 2 days off cycles during the week to avoid getting desensitized to it. That was 7 yrs ago and I still follow the same general regimen with fantastic results. While the side effects mentioned are true (reduced stimulation from things that should excite you from time to time), I would gladly take that as a side effect than deal with debilitating anxiety, panic and stress on the daily.

  6. For people that are saying the have no emotion on it. Don’t take it in the morning. Cortisol levels are high naturally in the morning which is good for you, and if you take ashwagandha right away you’ll crash your levels

  7. I took Aswagandha for years and was always sleepy. I took it for my anxiety and turned out I was low-T. I hop on TRT and stopped ASwagandha. I recommend Tongkat Ali and Mucuna Pruriens as better alternatives to AG as they the later is a dopamine precursor but take 2-3 times max per week. Tongkat Ali increase testosterone but unlike Aswagandha doesn’t make you sleepy, tired. We need some stress hormone to function and AG will reduce cortisol too much. However if you are finding yourself too stressed out Take Vitamin C, magnesium to destress but not this useless herb.

  8. Have been taking ashwagandha for years. I started using it for anxiety & it works very well. It's one of the few supplements where I can actively tell whether I've been taking it or not, especially with morning anxiety. Its main mechanism of action, reducing the stress hormone cortisol, works best if you've already got a stressful life or have dealt with some serious trauma.

  9. I'm gonna tell you right now…this shit is not good….I have trouble with almost all meds and supplements as I'm very sensitive to everything… is day 8 on this crap started at one gummy which is half the recommended dosage and then started cutting gummies in half and only taking half a gummie …..don't know why I can't take anything but no more with this one ….My anxiety is worse my pain is worse ….
